What is your real name? Will you share it on the internet at this time?
Yes, My name is Amber Woodworth, but I've never really liked my last name. I think I may have it changed to my mothers maiden name someday.
How old are you right now?
Almost 19
What were you like in Highschool when Story RP Began?
Not much different than I am now. But I feel like when story RP is published (could be in a few years) I will be very different so I should save this question for that time
Were you good at English?
Yes. Throughout grade 10, 11, and 12 I was always an english overachiever. (Which means a lot because I wasn't big on school) My best mark was In my final year, Advanced English 12. Both Mollymay and I received 100% in that class.
What are your ambitions for your writing career?
Obviously I wish to publish Story RP someday. I hope the world will enjoy it as much as Mollymay, myself, and our few close friends have. It is my dream for something i wrote to be a movie someday. (I dream it to be Story RP) There is another novel I wrote in the 9th grade I would love to publish someday.
Which writers inspire you?
Honestly I have not read much in my past and do not know very many authors. But I like to think authors like J.R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, Cassandra Clare, and Elizabeth Kerner are inspiring.
So, what have you written?
(*Include books, novellas, short stories, poems, blogs, awards or anything of interest.)
Haha, where to start. Well I have written tons of things in my past. Starting from the fourth grade I liked writing. I remember writing a story with 50 little girls in it when I was 9 years old. I named all 50 of the girls.
In the 9th grade I wrote a novel I may publish someday. That novel is about a young girl living in Japan that learns her family is cursed. She finds out members of her family have been reincarnated to continue a battle begun 500 years prior to the story. The members represent the 7 deadly sins and their virtues and the main character finds out she is Pride, a sin. The idea of the book is that she is the loved main character but also a bad guy. Which I find doesn't usually happen in stories often.
I wrote a short story/poem in the 10th grade. I like to think of it as my best piece and my pride as an author. It is called Shirou. The story is told about a buy named Shirou who has a series of problems. It is told in first person by a close friend of Shirou. The story includes subliminal hints to things never fully revealed and it well thought out. The character Shirou and the narrator are two well though out characters. Shirou for example, in everything said about him int the story, I could tell you a thousands more facts about him that aren't there.
Obviously I also write many Online Role-plays, my second favorite is called Sanctuary. I have a info page for it too but I don't think it will be published. Not any day soon at least.
Give us an insight into your/the main character of Story RP. What does he/she do that is so special?
Well, because this story has two authors I should really only answer character questions about my own character. Yasha is the main character of the story, but Shidouryoku is MY main character.
Being introduced halfway through the story, is what makes Shidou important. You don't see it coming when he is first introduced, I didn't. But his role is important in supporting Yasha. She is a broken girl and his role is to restore her and make her strong. He is special in the way that although he has horror stories in his past and a good reason why he could lash out and be selfish, he still cares about Yasha, his brother, and other friends more than himself.
He is special to me as an author because I don't create characters in stories like him often. He is well suited for a main male character role but could never take on the title of main character himself.
When is come to the actual main character of the story, I can only give my own point of view. Yasha is exactly how main characters stereotypically should be. Especially for females. Does this make her the most creative character ever made? No, but I don't think Story RP could be possible if she were any different.
What are you working on at the minute?
I am currently working on editing and rewriting Story RP so it is ready for publish. There is so much work to do.
Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from Story RP?
Hm, Not sure I know myself. It would be difficult but maybe some new faces in the acting world are required for some of the roles. I am really mostly familiar with big actors that really wouldn't fit into Story RP, and after the big actors my familiarity turns to Asian actors. So I suppose it would be difficult to choose.
How much research do you do?
When I started story RP? Very little. Now? Tons.
Writing isn't all about creativity, you can't write things you don't know. You can try, but its bound to go badly. I've learned a lot of little things from researching something for a piece of writing.
When did you decide to become a writer?
I've always wanted to be a writer, but even now I am not sure if that what I am becoming.
Why do you write?
I write to get all of these amazing stories out of my brain and onto paper. But there are thousands of ideas, incredible ones, that I can't write. I can't put on paper. So I write what I can. Which isn't always the best stories, but they are something.
Do you write full-time or part-time?
Currently... Less than Part-time. I would like to write full time but I seem to have an issue with productivity. (I am not the only one)
Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?
I don't but I need to. In fact, I think I will. Very soon.
Do you write on a typewriter, computer, dictate or longhand?
Story RP is completely Typed. But most of my work (other than online RP's) are handwritten. There is something special that comes with writing cramps.
Where do the your ideas come from?
Honestly, that is a question I've always asked myself. I guess its a mix of my subconscious, my interests, and a mix of inspiration from the things around me.
Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer just see where an idea takes you?
I have a PHD in Bullshitting. Okay, I don't have a PHD, but I am great at making things up as I go. I usually see where an Idea takes me, thats how Story RP began.
What is the hardest thing about writing?
Writers block. Its a chronic disease, I swear it is.
What was the hardest thing about writing Story RP?
It has been the rewrite. There are so many things wrong that need to be fixed and I am currently doing it alone. It would be easier with help.
How long on average does it take you to write an RP post?
At the beginning, when we had short posts, no worries, and low writing standards, it only took about 3-5 minutes for a post. Now, it takes a few months to get into it and then once we star a few hours to write.
Do you ever get writer’s Block?
All the time, like ALL THE TIME. I would probably have 10 novels published by now if it weren't for it.
Any tips on how to get through the dreaded writer’s block?
Do you have any tips for me instead?
If this book is going to be a series, tell us a little about it?
Story RP is going to be split up in likely 3 books when it is finished. The beginning where characters are introduced, Yasha the main character is developed, and something big happens. The second book will introduce characters like Shidou, and likely focus on the romance between Yasha and him. The third and final book will be a major finally of drama, tragedy, love, and much more.
What are your thoughts on writing a book series.
I think its a fantastic idea. I think it give people something to look forward to.
For your own reading, do you prefer ebooks or traditional paper/hard back books?
Traditional paper/hard back books. I am pretty old school when it comes to these things.
What book/s are you reading at present?
The mortal Instruments. Its unexpectedly good. I saw the movie first and I'm glad I did or else I would have been whining about left out things. But hey, that's what movies do and sometimes its necessary.
Do you proofread/edit all your own books or do you get someone to do that for you?
I will be proofreading and editing all of my writing before it goes onto others. But I believe after I have finished, that someone else should do it and then another person. A story needs to go through a few sets of eyes before it is complete.
Story Rp will likely go though my eyes, Mollymay's eyes, a friend 'Frostedeclipse' eyes, my sisters eyes, my mother eyes and a professional editor eyes before it is published.
Why do you think that some well written books just don’t sell?
It's like becoming a celebrity or a youtuber. Some things/people pick up in the world better than others and its not always how well written the book is. It is the audience who see's the book first or what the current popular genre is. The Genre is always changing too, so you can never know what people will like.
What is your favourite book and why?
Since I don't read much. Right now I'd have to say its the Mortal Instruments series.
What is your favourite movie?
I do watch thousands of Movies. SO many I don;t think I could choose a favorite. If I had to choose, something that I love and could watch over and over it would be Star Wars. Al 6 of them.
Where can you see yourself in 5 years time?
I have a hard time imagining myself in the future because I can imagine at least a hundred different things. So I think I will tell you the answer in about 5 years.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
I am still young! But If I could give myself advice, I think I would tell myself to avoid a few awkward situations I've been in and to be less lazy.
Which famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?
We shouldn't even go here. (Hyuna) If I get started (Jaejoong) then I won't stop. (Super Junior) Lets just say I am a fan of several Korean Singers and Actors that I would love to meet.
